Back to B'lore
My list for things to take along for Bangalore is ready. An exhaustive list it may be, but there's always something which might get missed out. And to-do lists have the knack of missing the most important things till you reach the destination where you are clueless as a two-month old baby.
Just last evening I was out shopping with mom [a universal past-time of women] when I spotted board games lined up at the next-door sports shop. I'm no fitness freak or aerobic enthusiast. But the carrom boards brought back nostalgic memories of family vacations in Lonavala. The entire clan - cousins, aunts & uncles - would promptly pack off for an extended weekend, mostly around Independence Day each year. We would spend endless hours at the carrom table practising strikes under tutorials from Mamu [mom's brother] who is a pro at the game.
The point here being, I wanted to buy a carrom board for my pastime in B'lore. I have more-or-less decided on the place I will be tenting up. There is a large terrace area in front of the house with red-tiled roof; I can picture myself spending a lazy Sunday evening under a single 40-watt bulb striking pockets opposite a pal, as we much from a bowl of spicy snacks. Picture perfect!
